Our Story

Our story is about the power of friendship to make a difference.

When Gail left her career due to recurring breast cancer in early 2009, three close friends worried about how she would spend her time. Gail's idea was to make a few hats for cancer patients with fabrics collected in her travels.  Her friends - seeing the appeal of the hats and the joy it would bring to their friend - went to work on the idea.

For a year, these four women - with friendships that span almost 40 years - merged their talents.  Sarah Adams, a college classmate, Paige Yates, a cousin by marriage and Debby Belichick, a dear friend, developed and expanded upon the idea. Supported by a core group of pro-bono contributors, friends, and family members, they transformed Gail's simple concept into a public charity that now celebrates and supports women living with cancer.
